Your ability to captivate the
students, combined with the D.A.R.E theme is excellent! A wonderful review of
our D.A.R.E. teachings. You've presented at all 28 D.A.R.E graduations since
1983 and your 2011 program was great once again. We highly recommend you to
others since you are a true professional educator as well as entertainer.
Well worth the investment!
--- Dan Chiamulera, Florence Co. WI Deputy Sheriff
About M AND M TEAM:
Since Mel founded the M and M TEAM in 1987 he has
conducted over 17,200 satisfaction guaranteed programs with over 1.25 million
in attendance. Mel has performed in theaters, hospitals, schools, children's
camps, and churches.
Paul Bierman, Westside EL. Principal, Reedsburg, WI
summarizes Mel's professionalism and program impact by stating, "You are
meaningful, motivating, and deliver a positive message to our students. The
performances were well received and enjoyed by our students and staff. I
appreciate the outstanding fun-filled yet educational performances. I have
used your services on many occasions and find them well worth the financial
investment.” His statement reflects the 1,350+ testimonials on file.
While specializing as a Youth Services Officer at
the Sun Prairie Police Department from 1974 through August, 1987, Mel
received seventeen (17) excellence in service to youth awards. The
recognition’s were from city and state youth organizations, service clubs,
Sun Prairie Public Schools, and the Sun Prairie Police Department. The awards
were for outstanding service in the areas of creative youth program
development and implementation of educational and safety services for youth.
Mel authored an informational guide on the
interaction of youth with police as it related to drinking behaviors, traffic
laws and one’s decision making responsibilities surrounding these issues. THE
STUDENT SURVIVAL MANUAL had a distribution of 197,500 copies throughout
Wisconsin. The state of New Jersey patterned their informational guide after
the MANUAL. Mel presented over 2,500 safety/crime prevention programs during
his time with the Department.
Service on the Board of Directors of the Dane
County, Wisconsin and International Juvenile Officers’ Associations, the
Traffic Safety Officer’s Association as well as many local organizations was
avenues by which significant positive youth impact was achieved.
In addition to assemblies, his acquired knowledge is
transferred through conference exhibits, workshops and as an inspirational
key note speaker.
"What a great performance! I have been part of
many D.A.R.E. graduations and have seen many types of entertainment but never
have I witnessed the entertainment that integrates the entire D.A.R.E.
curriculum into the presentation. You were great and so was your message.
What a meaningful performance. The children were
totally engaged during your entire act and were able to volunteer to
assist—they just loved it. This was a perfect end to their D.A.R.E.
class."
