It was good to see a message taught through entertainment and humor.” Benton Staff and students body, Benton EL., Benton, WI “I like the M & M Team’s AODA programming because they get the students involved by interacting with the audience, not just performing for the audience. Mel ties in lessons on peer pressure, self-esteem and being assertive by using humor, sleight of hand tricks, and puppetry for a very effectual visual performance.” Keith D. Govier, Grant County WI Sheriff’s Department, Lancaster, WI 11/26/11 A Rollingstone, MN Elementary School. It has great audience appeal. But, what was important to me was the articulate manner in which you adapted each presentation to the age/grade group in front of you. You have created a truly professional approach to programming for schools. I am convinced the faculty was equally impressed.” Kenneth Semmann, Shady Lane School, Menomonee Falls, WI “Wow! Really got a number of powerful issues across to the students. Applicable to all levels – not too abstract. Super.” B. Excellent strategies used for keeping kids attention.” Franklin EL. Teacher, Wausau, WI “As the person who contacted you for your presentation, I was a little skeptical as to how the program would go over. However, after seeing the presentation, students, teachers, and parents reaction I felt the day and programs were an outstanding success. The evening session was great, too.” Jo Niles, LaFarge School’s AODA Coordinator, LaFarge, WI “Hi I’m Rick Christianson with the Chippewa Co Fair Board, we had the show before our Mini grandstand with adults and children watching it. It was a very good show and worth the money we spent for it. Very interactive with children coming up and having fun participating in it and the adults enjoyed it as well. The “Cool Clyde” segment was very good and the children reacted positively.” Rick Christianson, Chippewa Co. Fair Board, Maynard, MN “At the Rusk Co. Fair in Ladysmith WI, we had the M & M Team and he was great for all ages! He was great for the kids, the adults, the teen, all ages. He is very inspirational and the kids loved his talks, the speech he was giving during the acts. I would say, I would like to see every fair in the county or the state or the United States to have this guy come out. No matter what kind of event it is, it was excellent, just excellent and we have heard nothing but positive things from 5 year olds to 60, 70 years olds. You did just a great, great job! (As to age appropriate and worth the money?) It was very worth the money we spent and you could not ask for anything more. You get what you pay for and you’ll get every pennies worth and I’ve heard that from many I have talked to. He is very passionate and a very good family type thing with very happy volunteers and we have talked about it already about bringing him back next year! Dave Groothousen, Chairman, Rusk County Fair Commission, Ladysmith, WI “This is Bud from the Rusk County Fair … I’ve just saw the M & M Team show and I recommend it for any ages cause it is just an excellent, excellent show! He was very sensitive and just a perfect show for anybody. Any fair boards from other counties got to get this show. It wasn’t just worth the dollar but more than the dollar! Money well spent.” Bud Young, Rusk County Fair Commission, Ladysmith, WI “I was very pleased; it was very entertaining with a very good message. He was flexible the show was good for children and adults and able to continue even when the weather was giving him problems (wind gusts of 40 m.p.h. blew props around). I was really thankful the Rusk County Fair has engaged his services. I would recommend any fair to engage his services. There was good audience participation that really gets the young people involved and that was really entertaining for the adults to see how the young people reacted to their involvement.” Robin Milke, Rudolph WI, 2009 Attendee of Chippewa Co Fair, Maynard, MN
" Thank you. What a great performance! I have been part of many D.A.R.E. graduations and have seen many types of entertainment but never have I witnessed the entertainment that integrates the entire D.A.R.E. curriculum into the presentation. You were great and so was your message. What a meaningful performance. The children were totally engaged during your entire act and were able to volunteer to assist—they just loved it. This was a perfect end to their D.A.R.E. class". Debra J. Divoky, Ed.D., Principal, Florence EL School, Florence, WI "I have had the privilege of seeing the M & M Team perform several times over the past few years, and each time I have been impressed with not only the artistry and skills, but also the life lessons and spiritual richness of Mel's message. In March we were blessed to have Mel perform at our annual Ministry Expo event. He is very well received - by the young and the young at heart - wherever he performs, and I highly recommend him. He is sure to make any event a special one” Rob Pue, Publisher, WISCONSIN CHRISTIAN NEWS, Marshfield, WI 54449 Mel! What a pleasure it was to have you at Christian Fellowship last night for our Family Night!! Our congregation is so varied...with ages...from 1 to 102, and yet you kept us all at the seat of our chairs!! After working with youth for over 20 years, it amazes me that you kept the children so entertained for such a long period of time!! Truly God is working with you to reach out to children and adults alike!! Thank you for making our first Family Night of this year a huge success!! Looking forward to having you again in the future! Chuck Mironas, Senior Pastor, Christian Fellowship E. Free Church, Chicago, Illinois “We were very pleased with the presentation at Grace Pointe Jesus’ Kids. Mel Curtiss and his “M & M Team” captured the hearts of our children as he presented his “Knowing, Growing and Showing” program to a group of 140 kindergarten through fifth graders. The children laughed and applauded for 45 minutes, learning the path of Christian Discipleship in the most fun way possible. There was not a yawn or a wiggle in the bunch as Mr. M & M did illusions and ventriloquism to illustrate spiritual truths. We highly recommend his energetic program to anyone looking for an entertaining way to reach children with the truths of Christ.” Lin Mattern, Director of Jesus’ Kids, Grace Pointe, Naperville and Plainfield, IL “As a church family we can never adequately express our sincere appreciation to you for your ministry among us this summer. Your time with us was a week of intense ministry (and past 8 summers) that has had a profound impact on the kids, as well as on a number of our young people.” Rich Abernathy, Pastor, 1st Cong. Church of Leon, Leon WI “I would say that inviting the campers to volunteer to get up on stage during chapel really makes them feel involved and important. The M&M Team puts things into the campers' perspective by using stage props and telling true stories. Many of them are very passionate about their belief in Christ. The muppets seemed to be their favorite part every time - they couldn't get enough. However, I personally enjoyed the magic tricks the most, such as the rope tying and escaping the chains. I think the MOCC kids were really challenged to put other people's needs above their own discomfort or uncertainty. But that passed pretty quickly as the kids became more comfortable interacting with the campers. We still talk about our memories with some of the campers who became very special to us. Thanks for a great mission trip, Mel!” Shelly Bucholtz, Monona Oaks Church, Monona, WI Summer 2011 “Mel - The experience with the MOCC mission trip was unforgettable. For the young folks to have this opportunity to grow in faith was wonderful to share. We appreciated your guidance through the week. I would certainly recommend the M&M team for any group with a desire to strengthen their faith in a meaningful and memorable way”. Jackie Scott, Monona Oaks Community Church, Monona, Wisconsin Summer 2011 “The M & M Team continually provides a high level of educational and entertainment value year after year! Thank you for your fun and uplifting performances and we look forward to your return for the TWELVTH summer.” Brett Gasser, Owner, Yogi Bear’s Camp-Resort , Wisconsin Dells, WI |
